Framed drawing: graphite on paper, coated with purified bees’ wax and tree resin.

In this current series, Vincent Pidone’s drawings begin as frottage: the result of rubbing a medium, in this case graphite, over various textures that are enhanced with hand work and pressure. Each drawing is then coated with a combination of purified bees’ wax and tree resin. Vincent’s drawings take on the form of Rorschach tests or sonograms, pinpoint maps or thumbprints, geological studies or sidewalk rubbings. All have an air of human observation and measure.

Pidone has exhibited his works in a number of art spaces including, Go North Gallery in Beacon, New York, Georgia Museum of Art, in Athens, Georgia, and the Sienna Art Institute in Sienna, Italy.
