Inspired by Mary’s mentor, Kazuko Oshima, baroque pearls of varying sizes and shapes are woven onto gold-filled wire to form a sculptural collar reminiscent of constellations. Historically, pearls are symbolic of wisdom gained through experience and are also believed to be talismans from the sea offering luck and protection to the wearer.
